01Scope and controller

This Privacy Policy applies to the Justice Path Utah Android application and this companion website. The app is prepared for Community Justice Advocates of Utah as a proposed general education, preparation, and official-link guide. Questions about CJAU's organization, programs, advocate directory, legal-service model, eligibility, or current services should be directed through CJAU's official website. App support does not determine legal-service eligibility or provide legal advice.

02Information you choose to enter in the app

The optional Prepare Workspace permits you to type one question and mark a short appointment-preparation checklist. The app does not require these fields, does not ask for an account, and does not need your name, address, email, phone number, date of birth, Social Security number, financial account number, medical information, case number, legal document, or precise location.

You should not enter sensitive identifiers, detailed health information, evidence, names of other people, safety plans, confidential communications, or information you would not want visible to someone with access to your device.

03Local storage on your device

The optional question and checklist are stored only in Android app preferences on the device. They are used to restore your local workspace when you reopen the app. They are not sent to Community Justice Advocates of Utah, the app support contact, this website, Cloudflare, an advertising company, or an analytics provider by the app.

Android backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for the app's local workspace.

04Information the app does not collect

The Android app does not collect or transmit:

• names, account registrations, passwords, or user profiles;
• email addresses or phone numbers through an in-app form;
• precise or approximate location;
• contacts, photos, videos, audio, files, calendars, or call logs;
• health, financial, debt, housing, domestic-violence, court, or case information;
• advertising identifiers, analytics events, crash reports, device fingerprints, or behavioral profiles;
• document images, document text, evidence, signatures, or court forms.

05App permissions

The app does not request Internet, camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage, notification, phone-call, SMS, accessibility, biometric, or calendar permissions. Android and AndroidX may add a package-scoped internal permission used to protect dynamically registered components; that internal permission does not provide access to personal device data.

06App network behavior

Core content is bundled with the Android app and works offline. The app does not include an Internet permission, webview, remote database, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, account service, cloud synchronization service, artificial-intelligence document service, or background network job.

Because the app has no Internet permission, it cannot silently send the local workspace to a remote server.

07External services and user-initiated actions

When you intentionally choose an official website, advocate directory, privacy-policy, email, or phone action, Android asks another installed application—such as your browser, email client, or phone dialer—to handle that action. The receiving application and destination service operate under their own terms and privacy practices.

The app does not control information you later enter into another application, browser history created by that application, communication metadata, or the destination's collection of technical information.

08Website technical data

This static website is intended for deployment through Cloudflare Workers or related Cloudflare infrastructure. Hosting and network providers may automatically process ordinary request information needed to deliver and secure a webpage, such as IP address, request time, requested path, browser or device characteristics, approximate network location, security signals, and response status.

The site owner does not include a custom analytics tracker, advertising pixel, account system, database, or contact-form submission service in this website package. Cloudflare's processing is governed by Cloudflare's own policies and configuration.

09Cookies and browser storage

This website's source does not set application cookies, advertising cookies, analytics cookies, local-storage identifiers, or session accounts. A hosting provider, security layer, browser, or linked third-party site may use its own storage or technical controls. Following an external link moves you to a service with separate practices.

10Sensitive and safety information

Legal, financial, medical, housing, domestic-violence, stalking, and safety information can be highly sensitive. Justice Path Utah is deliberately not a case-management, evidence-storage, emergency-response, confidential-messaging, safety-planning, or legal-advice system.

11Retention and deletion

The optional workspace remains in local app storage until you clear it in the app, clear the app's storage through Android settings, or uninstall the app. The app does not maintain a remote copy and therefore cannot restore a deleted workspace.

Technical request logs controlled by a hosting or network provider may be retained according to that provider's configuration and legal obligations. Questions about Cloudflare-controlled data should be directed to Cloudflare under its published privacy process.

12Security and limitations

Data minimization, offline content, disabled backup, lack of sensitive permissions, and user-controlled deletion reduce exposure, but no device or software environment can be guaranteed secure. Device compromise, screen capture, physical access, operating-system behavior, other installed applications, or information copied into an external service may create risks outside this app's control.

The app is not designed to create attorney-client privilege, advocate-client confidentiality, a protected legal record, or secure communication with Community Justice Advocates of Utah.

13Your choices and privacy rights

You may use the educational content without entering a local question or completing the checklist. You may edit or delete the workspace at any time. You may decline to open external links, email, or phone actions.

Because the app does not receive or maintain a remote user account or workspace record, app support generally has no app-collected personal record to access, export, correct, or delete. If you believe you sent information through an external service, contact that service or recipient directly. Applicable privacy rights may vary by jurisdiction.

This policy is effective July 19, 2026. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update means the revised policy applies to future use.
